Spencer Aaron Kirson, of Bethesda, MD and Denver, CO, born on Thursday, February 20, 1986, passed from this life on April 3, 2024 at Dove House Hospice, in Westminster, MD. He was surrounded by the people he loved most: his parents; Ben Kirson and Karen (Brennan) Kirson, his brother Adam, and his sister in law Alexandra Ducasse. After a truly courageous endurance of a brief, but aggressive, illness, his final days were spent in the comfort, warmth, and love, that were the defining forces of his brief but brilliant life. Spencer’s incomparable personal style, his good humor, and his radiant positivity, penetrated every dark corner, and brought light and joy to everyone who crossed his path. He cared about, and he cared for, all the people who crossed his path, regardless of the circumstances, and his model of generosity and acceptance is an example for us all. His life was punctuated by joy, curiosity, and the wonder of nature and the world around him. The power of his mind, his energy, and his driving will were matched by his humanity, kindness, and compassion. He was a leader and pioneer, on a national level, and gave 14 years of his life to help build the medical cannabis industry, advancing the understanding of the industry, to serve those who needed comfort and help. We are poorer for his passing, everyone who knew him was enriched by his life. His family invites all who knew him to mark his passing in their own way, by some act of kindness, which regardless of how small, never goes unnoticed, and never goes unrewarded. He burned brightly, warmed us deeply, and planted his light to grow in each person who knew him. May he rest in peace.
Funeral services in his honor will be held in the chapel at the Garden of Remembrance on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 11:00am.
